AFGROW European Training and Workshop 2024 proceedings and notes

Hosted by ZHAW, the School of Engineering, Centre for Aviation, Winterthur, Switzerland

This was the fifth AFGROW European Workshop with 17 attendees representing the Industry and Academia. We would like to express our deepest thanks to the ZHAW School of Engineering, Centre for Aviation for providing the Workshop location.

The Workshop provided an excellent opportunity for feedback from our European customers, and was a fantastic opportunity for colleagues to get together and discuss interesting developments in the Industry. The following topics and areas of interest were discussed.

• Criteria to stop at specified hours not cycles
• Add notes to tabular fit explaining extrapolations
• New AFGROW K-solutions
• Show which spectrum levels have damage tags
• Use the compression factor crack initiation feature
• Calculate Kt for crack initiation
• Allow initial stress ratio value for beta correction to be any number, not just 1
• Fix slope change issue for beta correction
• Color code growth rate curves for number of hits

We will be considering these areas of interest for incorporation in future AFGROW releases. We will also provide feedback on our progress in each of these areas.
