You can now use two additional transition and failure options to work in conjunction with the API 579 K Solutions and the CorLAS burst pressure model introduced in AFGROW 5.4.
The first of these options is the MAT-8 transition criteria, based on Ted Anderson's MAT-8 PIPELINE FLAW ASSESSMENT SOFTWARE, Version 2. The MAT-8 Burst Model is based on the MAT-8 project commissioned by Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI), whose goal was to develop a state-of-the-art fracture model specifically for longitudinal flaws in pipelines. The MAT-8 transition criteria works for longitudinal surface crack pressure models.
The other option is the API-579 Level 2 Failure Criteria. This failure criteria works for the full suite of API-579 part-through crack K-solutions included in AFGROW. When running AFGROW with the API-579 transition criteria enables, you also get a set of Lr and Kr values, as well as points representing the failure curve for the current material, that you can use to graph your own Failure Assessment Diagram (FAD). Alternatively, you can import your XML output files to our online post-processing tool to have the graph generated for you automatically!
